A Networking Opportunity for Women

Here at Sovereign Sisters’ Society, we cultivate a sacred space for sisterhood, self-growth, and accountability. One other very valuable opportunity that comes along with being part of this wonderful tribe of women is the opportunity to network. Often we go on with our individual lives, not making the time or space for networking, and we are missing out big time! The opportunity, creativity, relationships, and collaborations that can stem from networking are profound!

As an entrepreneur myself, I have made it a regular practice to network with women. I always keep an ear out and eye out on how I can help, inspire, connect, or collaborate with another woman. It has been such a healthy and rewarding practice for me and it’s helping me define who I am and what I have to offer.

This week I was networking within an incredible entrepreneurs’ association, and a woman at the Bluebell Group was interested in interviewing me about my journey as an entrepreneur and mompreneur. I did the interview, and it was such an empowering experience to own my story, my skill set, and my business!

There is so much opportunity when we are willing to speak about our projects, ideas, passions, and businesses. I’d say one of the best benefits of networking with your fellow women is the simple practice of it!

Here are some of the top benefits:

  1. Building confidence. Putting yourself in positions where you have to talk about your skills and ideas helps you own them! And the more you practice this, the more fluid and confident you can get about who you are and what you do!

  2. Inspiration and creativity. When you expose yourself to what other sisters are doing, you are constantly being awakened to new ways of doing things, new language, and new ideas. This awakens your inner creativity, helping you bring more unique flavor to any existing projects, and sometimes even sparks a completely new idea that leads you to your next endeavor.

  3. Collaboration. One of the most valuable connections you can make when networking is meeting a person who is on a similar path and wants to collaborate. Coming together on a project with another inspired woman usually brings on creativity, strength, and a solid output. Coming from a solo entrepreneur, it can be fun when you get the opportunity to work together. So let this be an inspiration to talk about what you do more often—you never know when you’ll be talking to just the right person to help you along!

  4. New perspectives. The practice of talking to other women who are all involved in different lines of work widens your outlook on what is possible. Your small world of business or crafts may not be as small as you think! When you are exposed to new ways of doing things, your skill set widens because you know more is possible. Even as a stay-at-home mom, networking was profound and necessary. I learned new life hacks, cultivated a sense of community, and implemented new systems into my approach to motherhood.

  5. Building accountability. When you tell others what you do, you are more inclined to keep working at it. The next time you see your girlfriend, she will most likely ask you about that project you mentioned last time. This should give you a healthy push along the path toward your goals.

  6. Establishing referral networks. The more you network, the more you know about who does what. Next time your friend needs a midwife or a local hairstylist, you might have a valuable connection to offer her. If you are a businesswoman, or aspire to be one, building a referral network for your clients is one of the best ways to encourage trust and rapport. It shows that you know your field.

  7. Making sales. Girl, don’t be afraid to be successful! If you intentionally make time to network, you intentionally make time to make sales. The more people who know about what you offer, the more interest and sales you get. So get out there, own your ideas and services, and sell them! Your true girl friends want to see you succeed and to support you on the way!

  8. Developing new friendships. You will meet so many amazing people who will inspire you and make you excited for your journey! These are the girls to keep in your circle. I’ve made such great friends through networking, and I can’t tell you enough about how nice it is to have friends I can relate to. When I network, I find more women in a similar field or on a similar path, and it makes our conversations rich, inspiring, and helpful!

This week at Sovereign Sisters’ Society, we had Networking Wednesday. We all gathered in a circle, talked about the benefits of networking, and then jumped right into it. We were all inspired and charged about our passions, and made some wonderful connections within the sisterhood. So get out there and network!

Join us for our next circle to share in this wonderful tribe of inspired women HERE.
